European Industrial Campus Ranks Among the Global Elite, Bringing Home Silver from the GRI Global Awards
Urbanity Campus Tachov shone in the international GRI Global Awards competition, which recognizes projects pushing the boundaries of architecture,
industry, and sustainability. This modern manufacturing campus, created through the transformation of a former brownfield
site, integrates innovation, technology, and community life into a cohesive whole. It first succeeded in September at the
GRI Awards Europe 2025 with a bronze in Sustainability Highlight of the Year and then continued its strong performance in
November at the GRI Global Awards 2025 in Abu Dhabi, where it secured silver in Industrial and Logistics Project of the Year.
GRI Awards Europe and GRI Global Awards are organized by the GRI Institute, an international network connecting leaders in development, investment, and finance.
These prestigious awards are the organization's highest recognition, highlighting projects and leaders who fundamentally transform
the landscape of real estate development in Europe and beyond. Urbanity Campus Tachov's achievements in both competitions
within the same year underscore its exceptional standing among top European and global projects.
The jury was particularly impressed by Urbanity Campus Tachov’s vision and complexity. Situated on the former site of an
industrial complex established in 1967, the modern campus spans 220,000 m² and is strategically located near the centre of
Tachov and the Czech-German border. It blends manufacturing and service functions with community life, naturally linking global
opportunities with strong local roots and talent.
This project sets a new standard by merging industrial heritage with future technologies and campus urbanism that connects
work with housing, education, and various services. Currently, the campus includes three fully leased production halls and
holds permits for further development, including plans for residential villas, a hotel, a kindergarten, and a technical secondary
school. Urbanity Campus Tachov thus confirms its long-term vision, which extends far beyond typical industrial parks. Additionally, it is the first
project in the Czech Republic to achieve the prestigious BREEAM Communities certification, scoring the highest in Central
and Eastern Europe. Notably, this certification has been awarded to an industrial development for the first time. Urbanity Campus Bruntál in the
Moravian-Silesian region is following in its footsteps.
“It is a tremendous honour for us to receive such international recognition. At the same time, it is a clear signal that
Czech projects can confidently inspire global leaders. Urbanity Campus Tachov shows that modern industry can be sustainable,
architecturally sophisticated, and beneficial to the development of its surroundings. We see this success as confirmation
that the path we have chosen truly makes sense,” says Roland Hofman, CEO of Urbanity.
